ONYX Events at MAL 2014

During MAL 2014, The Men of ONYX will host a series of events, including a Meet & Greet, our world-famous cocktail party, and a Fellowship Dinner.

Friday January 17

Meet & Greet: 6-9 pm, ONYX Hospitality Suite

A chance to unwind, catch up with old friends and make new ones. There will be lots of food and LOTS of cocktails, along with a few surprises…

 Saturday January 18

Tour of the Capitol: 830-11 am, Hyatt Front Entrance

One of our pledges has arranged for a tour of the United States Capitol, which is less than 5 blocks from the host hotel.

ONYX Cocktail Party/Leather Gear & Underwear Auction: 2-6 pm, Congressional A

The ONYX Cocktail Party is our signature event during MAL. Join Leathermen of Color and their friends & admirers on Saturday afternoon for a relaxing afternoon of gawking at half-naked men while getting liquored up. This year features the return of the Leather Gear and Underwear Auction. Gorgeous Men of Color of all shapes and sizes will model the latest leather gear and underwear and you will get the chance to buy the clothes right off their back during a live auction. The winning bidder will get to come on stage and watch as the model undresses before his eyes. 100% of the proceeds from Gear and Underwear auction benefit SMYAL, a local DC charitable organization that empowers LGBTQ youth.

We ask for donations at the door to support our ONYX Brothers who will be competing at International Mr. Leather (IML) this year. At IML 2014, Mr. DC Eagle, Mr. Eagle NYC, Mr. Southeast Leatherfest, and Mr. Hideaway Leather will all be competing. We wish them all the luck in the world, and your donation will help support them in their journeys!

Sunday January 19

Fellowship Dinner: 6pm, Uno’s in Union Station

As the weekend begins to wind down, we gather to break bread one last time as a family. The cost is $21.50/person, cash only.

All meals include a garden salad with house dressing, along with soda or iced tea, and choice of one entree and one mini dessert:
