It is ONYX Mid-Atlantic, Inc.’s (hereafter referred to as ONYX Mid-Atlantic) policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal information we may collect about you, including data collected from our website (https://www.onyxma.com) and other social media outlets we use.

While the details are provided throughout this policy statement, our guiding principal is that we protect your data, we do not use it for any purpose different than why it was collected and we are fully transparent in our data usage practices. Furthermore, access to all data we collect is tightly controlled and limited to those few ONYX Mid-Atlantic Officers that have an explicit “need to know”.

Your information is never shared with general members of ONYX Mid-Atlantic, with other ONYX chapters or with other external organizations.

The Information we collect includes both information you knowingly and actively provide us when using or participating in any of our services and promotions, and any information automatically sent by your devices in the course of accessing our products and services.

We ask for personal information for specific needs that are well defined to our visitors (also referred to as customers or end-users that use and consume our products and services).  These needs and the personal information we request are based on specific services:

1. Membership Application for Inclusion in a Pledge Line

  • Name
  • Email
  • Social media tag names
  • Date of birth
  • Phone/mobile number
  • Home/mailing address
  • Photo (headshot only)

This information is required as part of the application and is collected on a secure channel using HTTPS.  During the application process the only persons within ONYX Mid-Atlantic authorized to view the personal data are the:  President, Pledge Master and Assistant Pledge Master. 

This data is never shared for other purposes.  Our data collection tool for membership applications uses JotForm (www.jotform.com).

Once the application process is complete, this information is fully destroyed / removed from our website and any third party providers. 

2. Subscription to Receive Notifications About New Website Posts

Visitors may subscribe to receive email notification of new posts made on the ONYX Mid-Atlantic website at:  https://onyxma.com/subscribe/ 

Only the ONYX Mid-Atlantic Webmaster is authorized to view the email addresses.  

This data is never shared for other purposes.  Our data collection tool for email subscription to website posts uses JotForm (www.jotform.com).

This information is required to receive the notifications of new website posts made on https://www.onyxma.com.  Submissions are encrypted with high-grade RSA 2048 at the user’s computer, then transferred and stored securely on servers.  Only the ONYX Mid-Atlantic Web Master is authorized to view this encrypted data.

Consent is never implied or assumed. This service is operated in compliance with the regulations defined by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
